Tonight when we were driving home Morgan was talking about spelling words and she proceeded to spell some of her beginning sight words (they have a list of 100 or so sight words that kids learn when starting to read). First was I, but then she spelled like, see, and at - AND then I heard her sounding out hat and she spelled that, followed by mat and bat... It was definitely a proud / impressed mommy moment.
We are only 3 months into school and it's great to see that she loves learning and wants to try outside of the classroom. She even attempted some harder words like clock - which she gave a go and spelled klok. The English language and all our letter sounds are definitely tricky, once you teach them the rules, then comes the exceptions.
